Picnic at Wisma Atria in Singapore
We are actually on our way up to Rang Mang Shokudo when I saw this place out of the corner of my eye (435 Orchard Road #03-15, 6734-8352). To my surprise, there were food trucks inside! Or at least, that's the way it seemed from a distance. Upon closer inspection, these were fake food trucks, none of which appeared to be third-party either. But there certainly was a lot to pick from, including a knockoff of Butahage, a Korean-Mexican stall, an Indian fusion thing, a roast chicken place, a Taiwanese beef noodle guy, a fried chicken shop, and even a stand with mere hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Either way, it was clear that this was meant to compete with Marché given not just the rösti and crepe stations, but also the fancy tag and kiosk system. It was all decorated very nicely (apparently this is run by the Omakase Burger folks), and based on the one plate of mentaiko spaghetti that we got, the ingredients were respectable too without any overcooked noodles. But for some reason the pasta above had a bitter aftertaste, and there wasn't enough butter either. I suppose one day I should come back to try the other food, but to be honest I'm not that interested.
