China's Yeren Xiansheng ("Yeah Gelato") in Singapore

Pistachio gelato

It turns out that the new gelato kiosk out in front of Plaza Singapura is a chain from Beijing (68 Orchard Road #01-K1). I liked it much more than I thought I would, with that one above done so nicely that the taste of the pistachio was in the forefront without the milk, cream, and sugar overpowering it (yep, thoughts of Dubai chocolate and even baklava raced through my head). One has to pay a hefty S$9.80 (US$7.70) for it, but it was certainly much better than that pervasive Mixue chain; and one doesn't get Oh! Susanna stuck in one's head in the process.

BTW I went to Messina today after eating at Da Michele and intentionally ordered a pistachio while this was fresh in my mind. Messina's was more creamy and sweet, whereas the Yeren Xiansheng was more nutty. I prefer the latter.
