Kaimakk at Istanbul Airport

Baklava and Turkish Coffee

I am not sure if these guys are run by the TWG/Bacha folks nor if they got inspiration from them, but this upscale-looking Turkish cafe at Istanbul Airport seemed to take a page right out of their "affordable luxury" playbook.

It was decorated very nicely, with lots of pretty desserts sitting in a brightly-lit glass case as well as Turkish coffee vessels brewing on hot sand. There was marble and porcelain everywhere, not to mention classy serving trays and dressed-up wait staff.

I don't drink Turkish coffee nor eat baklava enough to make a valid call on the authenticity of the food, but these both worked for me as a quick post-dinner snack while transiting here at the airport. Either way, the similarities to the TWG/Bacha formula were striking.
