Niuhonghong Shitang at Toa Payoh Mall
There is a new niuroumian place not far from the biang biang noodle shop at Toa Payoh Mall (190 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh #01-530), complete with a gentleman doing hand-pulled noodles behind the glass window. There wasn't much English to be found, and looked like a chain from China but I couldn't find much information about it. It looked promising either way.
Well, I was happy to gobble down the Shaanxi liangpi above. But the guotie next to it were not only disappointingly soggy, but also the filling was too meaty. I didn't try the niuroumian, but I have a feeling that I won't like it either given how the menu bragged about how much meat it comes with. Still, the prices are pleasantly low, so I may very well be back, in particular to try the roujiamo and chuanr.
