Zhengliuji ("SteamLiu's") from China in Singapore

Liuyang steamed dishes

I was not expecting this at all, but the Scarlett supermarket in the basement of Westgate has a small food court (3 Gateway Drive #B2-01). And one of the stalls is a chain from Hunan called Zhengliuji that specializes in steamed dishes from the city of Liuyang. Yes, it was those cute brown ceramic vessels caught my eye, and they were scaldingly hot to the touch.

There was a big assortment for one to choose from, but I focused on just a few given that I already ate that ramen upstairs. And yes, I liked my yancai kourou above as well as that pot of kelp and pork soup. The former wasn't as greasy as the one at Juanxiang, but the yancai bits were still savory enough to fuel fast ingestion of those firm grains of rice. I want to go back to try the fennel meatballs and tofu with shrimp.
