Osaka's ROMAN.TEI at Jurong Point, Singapore

Double Beef Jyu

Don Don Donki's food court at Clarke Quay Central isn't the only spot for new outlets of overseas chains. There is also a new food hall called &JOY out west (1 Jurong West Central 2 #B1-47) featuring this beef bowl stall from Osaka.

I didn't get a chance to ask them where the beef was from, but at S$14.90 (US$11), I'm assuming that this wasn't proper wagyu, especially since these slices weren't particularly fatty. But they also weren't particularly dry nor tough either, making this go down easily. There was a bit of a sweet sauce on it that I wish they hadn't used, but at least it wasn't as sweet as Doraya.

While we were here, we also picked up a plate of gyoza from Ramen Kiou, another Osaka import that was seemingly the most popular stall here. The gyoza were nearly scorched black, but were edible. I just wasn't in the mood for gluten though, so I didn't get a chance to try the ramen.
