Super Sushi in Singapore

Mala Chicken Maki and Nasi Lemak Maki

Have you ever had crème brûlée salmon nigiri? Or tom yum chicken maki? This small chain from Tampines has expanded to a few locations, putting a bunch of sushi laid out behind a glass case. Many of them sounded rather outrageous. Yet something inside me was drawn to them, especially since they were in such an attractive array of colors, and were easy to order.

I have to confess that I kinda liked what I had, with neat things like shredded coconut coating that nasi lemak roll above. The key was not to think of it as sushi, but just food that was conveniently shaped into easy bite-size pieces. And that even includes the aforementioned crème brûlée salmon, as it made for a sweet closing dessert, albeit with protein.
