I've been wanting to try these super wide himokawa udon noodles from Gunma for a while now. Godaime Hanayama Udon in Ginza is well-known for it, but there was a huge line there last time I walked past it. So it was only when the JFH folks started serving this dish down here did I finally try it today. Yes, I liked the cold flat noodle sheets, including the refreshing garnishes and little rack in the center to drip off the water.
It was from a shop at VivoCity called Kyo Komachi (1 HarbourFront Walk #01-99, 6258-4241). It seems to be a halal version of Hakata Hanayama Udon at Funan, which presumably has no affiliation as Hanayama in Ginza. Still, it was interesting to see that they had white curry udon on the menu here, which I should top up with next time given how tiny the himokawa serving was above.
