This local chain opened up a few years ago, but I only got around to trying it now, in part since it was only today that I noticed that they had a mala chicken burger going for just S$3.99 (US$3.10). It looked like quite a steal, even if I wasn't getting my hopes up about the food itself.
It turned out that it wasn't really a burger, especially given that the bun was roujiamo-sized and with the texture of pita bread. They basically just shoved a piece of fried chicken inside and squirted a mala sauce onto it.
I'll admit though that I kinda liked how it tasted like processed spicy noodles, especially with the brute force of the salty sauce and grease pushing it through. At such a bargain price, I may very well sneak one in again for a small snack one day.
