Spring Sauerkraut Fish Udon

My original intention in coming here was for the mapo tofu, which I realized today isn't even in their name anymore now that they are just called "Chen's." Presumably that name change was done to allow for a wider range of offerings, including this seasonal special at the top of the menu. Given the wonders that Chen Kentaro was able to do with shuizhuyu, I was curious to see what he could do with suancaiyu.

This was quite disappointing though, mainly because of the quality of the fish, which was crumbly. Granted, one can't expect what he delivers at his high-end restaurant at his downscale venues, but I didn't care for how this was seasoned, and the noodles underneath didn't do it for me either. I will still come back for the mapo tofu though.
