Cool, a chain of cafes from Burma has opened an outlet in Singapore (1 Zubir Said Drive #01-01). The menu featured things like lahpet thoke and mohinga, but I went for this rice-based salad called htamin thoke. And it was awesome. It was spicy, slightly acidic, and earthy from shallots. There were small cuts of potato in there too. Now, the service tonight was painfully slow, but it was only S$8 (US$6), and the flip side is that this is a very comfortable place where one could park oneself for hours if needed.
