It looks like I'm a couple of months late to this, but Hototogisu has free kaedama available with any bowl right now (and in fact they say it's "free flow" so I suppose one could get more than one portion if you really wanted to). The nice thing was that they kept the noodles nice and firm. But that chashu in my bowl today was so lean and dry that it was a bit of a buzzkill. At least there was also "free flow" takana and eggs as part of the promotion, presumably in response to some of the local competition.
