China’s Dakotea at Taste Orchard in Singapore
This was genuinely one of the more interesting surprises that I've come across lately. And it looks like these guys have been in town for a few months now (160 Orchard Road #01-10).
See, it's a tea shop from Kunming in Yunnan, and they only have one drink on the menu. So you basically just state the number of cups that you want, and they manually cut and squeeze those oddly-shaped mountain limes to order. The juice and rind is then shaken by hand with the tea along with some kind of glutinous rice to create a pleasantly mild yet refreshing potion that I was quite impressed with. The citrus was mild, and the tea was fragrant but soft, thus making the taste of the rice the more prominent of the three.
I'm normally not one to get excited about the bazillion bubble tea chains around, but I liked this so much that I'm going back for more next time I'm nearby.
