Sumi to Yamanashi Kayabacho in Tokyo, Japan
Here's a random izakaya in the basement of the SKK building that we randomly walked into tonight (3 Chome−10−2 Kayabacho, 050-5487-2209). They seem to be known for that grilled meat platter above, featuring not just A5 wagyu, but also sasuages, pork, and chicken, with the pork in particular shining above the rest. We had quite a few other things too, including a braised chicken liver that was deliciously rich in that sauce, as well as a potato salad that they torched with some cheese on top. They were friendly and engaging, and even comp'ed us a small platter of basashi, even if it was rather lean. Anyway, this was just the small local place that we were looking for, and the prices were reasonable too.
