Right next door to Poh Hwa Oyster Cakes at Berseh Food Centre lies this new Japanese stall (166 Jalan Besar #02-33). I liked it much better than The Japanese Food Alley on Holland Drive, with everything carefully breaded and fried above, all for a very affordable S$7.80 (US$5.80). Of course, one can't expect a great cut of meat at that price, and frankly I'd rather pay more to go to places like Anzu instead (or just go to Maruhachi if I'm sticking to kopitiams). But I might try their menchi katsu and/or curry since I suspect I might like those more.
