I haven't been back to Xibu Mahua since before the pandemic. This time I went for that cold cabbage dish above, the name of which is associated with an emperor's fortunes, it seems. It was basically just coated with a sweet
sesame paste and garnished with dried fruit.
I was pretty bummed with the noodles in the background though. I thought it sounded great being "oil sprinkled," but it was basically that crude sweet and sour stuff that I got
annoyed with last time. And the noodles were mushy too. I should've stuck to their usual soup bowls.
