Whoa, this place looks nothing like that dark and dingy Kew Garden that preceded it (313 Outram Road #02-01, 6221-9555). It's rather upscale and elegant now, with half of the space now being an open air patio. Even if the industrial Tan Boon Liat Building isn't the prettiest view in front of it, it did a nice job of blocking the setting sun, making for a pleasantly breezy place for drinks and oysters. I could only afford their happy hour deals though, as the food was otherwise rather eye-poppingly expensive. OK, that tarmasalata above wasn't too pricey, but it was basically one of the cheapest things on the menu aside from fries.
