I'm still a bit confused on whether this features salmon or bonito (it tasted like the latter, but the label said it was the former). Nonetheless, this was an eye-catching thing that I saw in the
natto section at
Meidi-Ya. Rather than the usual soy sauce and
karashi mustard, this one came with a separate tray of fish flakes in a mildly sweet sauce to top your
natto with. And the Meidi-Ya folks highlighted it because it was featured in some famous magazine. I prefer savory over sweet, so this wouldn't be my first choice. But I still happily ate it.
