Bulalo From Lorenzo's Way in the Philippines
This restaurant is run by the same folks as the ones who run Abe, and even some of the menu items are identical. But I was pressed for time during lunch today, and this was the only local food that I could find nearby. When I asked for something fast, they suggested this bulalo, or a beef shank and marrow soup (the instant version of which I've tried before, it seems). It didn't really stand out too much though; the broth was crisp and slightly tangy, so I could hardly taste the marrow except for a faint finish on my tongue at the end of it all. It ultimately just seemed like a clear beef and vegetable soup. But I still ate it all.
