Bad Bird Umami Fried Chicken in Metro Manila, Philippines

Two Piece Bad Bird with Fresh Corn and Coleslaw

Today seems to be fried chicken day, eh? This was a small chain of contemporary fried chicken restaurants, and it looked interesting enough. There were a few Korean-influenced things on the menu, but it wasn't Korean fried chicken, as there was no sweet sauce lathered on it. Instead, there were dry spices on a three point scale; I grabbed a the highest "chemical" level (seeing how last night's spicy food was anything but) as well as a "safe" level as a control group. Yes, I liked the thick, crunchy, and savory batter, and the chemical level packed a decent amount of heat too. It almost tasted like instant noodles, which was presumably due to MSG, but was fun to eat nonetheless.
