An Outlet of La Paradeta in Barcelona, Spain

Seafood

One entry on the Eater 38 list for Barcelona is this small chain of casual seafood restaurants, an outlet of which was nearby. It looked really promising, with its assortment of seafood laid out for you to pick from, after which they cooked it for you to pick up from the counter later.

It's too bad then that it wasn't as good as I had hoped. The fried llenguado sole that I picked was affordable but rather dry, the scallops were tender but forgettable, while the grilled cigalas scampi didn't have much headfat in them, even if the meat was sweet.

One nice thing though is that they offer a big green salad to go with your meal for just €4.50 (US$5). If I come back here, it will be for that salad. And not because it was good (it was rather plain to be honest), but simply because of how difficult it can be to get raw greens around here.
