JarrBar at Pike Place Market in Seattle
An old friend of mine mentioned this place to me today (1432 Western Avenue, 206-209-2239). And it happened to be on my way back to the hotel, so I figured I'd swing by to see if it were any good. To my surprise, it was a conservas shop. It seemed odd when we were basically in the tail end of Pike Place Market where all of the fresh seafood was, but I stuck to it and was very happy about it.
Not only were the chipirones and pulpo tasty, but they had some nice anchovy-stuffed olives as well as a musty Basque cider with a cheesy aftertaste, in a totally unique and good way. I liked it enough that I got another glass, as well as more of those yummy olives.
