Japan Epilogue: A Pair of Pricey Miyazaki Mangoes
I love trying out different varieties of mangoes. And if someone is generous enough to gift me, I love trying out pricey Japanese fruit. But I've never tried an expensive Japanese mango before, so when I left Tokyo this past week, I stopped at a department store and picked up this pair for 8000 Yen (US$72).
As you might expect, they were very ripe, sweet, and juicy. They were slightly reminiscent of a rich alphonso, but ultimately was still very balanced without going to extremes in any direction. Yes, of course it was good, but I think I'll stick to my favorite (and much, much cheaper) Burmese ones.
