A local teammate of ours found this place online for a quick bite near the hotel tonight. I was a bit worried that it was a touristy place given its prime location (4th Floor, Block A, 6 Bund, +86-6920-3099-998). They even had a little nook with the river as a backdrop that clearly was optimized for social media posts.
Well, the point was to eat hairy crab roe, which is in season right now, and they do it by topping it onto noodles or rice. It was delicately savory and I was happy to get it while it was available. Apparently they serve shrimp roe noodles in the off season.
By the way, those plain-looking prawns in the background were rather fragrant as they were soaked in the local yellow wine. This isn't something that I'd eat every day, but I'm glad that we were able to get such a local and seasonal item while we were here.
