Steak 99 at Plaza Singapura

Chicken

I guess the JFH folks got inspired by Yappari and Sudaku's success and decided to create their own version of it (68 Orchard Road #04-65). One big difference though was that their meals started at a very afforable S$9.90 (US$7.60) price.

There were four proteins available, with that chicken above being better than the three beef options. On that note, the lowest-priced sirloin ended up being better than the pricier ribeye and angus options, with the ribeye being lean and rather rubbery after sitting on that hot plate, while the angus was moist but also on the lean side. The cheap sirloin ended up having a bit of fat in it despite being a ten dollar steak.

Pro tip: spread a thin layer of rice onto the hot plate when it arrives and place your beef on top of it to keep it from overcooking. It also forms a fun layer of scorched rice, even if that just makes it a deconstructed Pepper Lunch.
