Hot pot places can get pretty crowded on Friday nights, and we didn't want to sit around waiting forever at places like Haidilao. So we figured that maybe this place could be a good alternative given that it's tucked away in an obscure second floor location without any foot traffic passing by it (7 Wallich Street #02-01, 6557-0906). Fortunately, it was easy to get a table today.
Now, I wasn't getting my hopes up given that it was a buffet, but nonetheless we embraced it by immediately getting a double portion of the fatty beef above, along with a number of other items. It looked impressive, but it was also cut into tiny pieces, making it not that fun to eat. Part of the buffet pitch included unlimited xiaolongbao, but the filling inside was disappointingly sweet.
Well, we ate enough to leave with full bellies nonetheless. They offered quite a wide range of broths, although my cordyceps one wasn't particularly inspiring, and they charged for the broth on top of the already-high weekend price for the buffet (they do individual pots here BTW). Next time I think we'll go to Malubianbian instead.
