The team behind Fortuna opened up this tonkatsu shop with a former Ma Maison chef at the helm (84 Tanjong Pagar Road). They offered several types of pork, including Hungarian and American ones, but my cheapest Canadian version above suited me just fine.
It's unfortunate though that the underside of one of my pieces was soggy despite it being cooked to order and resting on a metal grill. Well, I still ate it all.
I'm not sure if they picked this location to catch the spillover crowd from Tonshou one street over, but Tonshou is definitely my preference. Indeed, if I get another soggy underside here, then I'd rather just go to a Maruhachi koptiam stall and pay a much lower price.
