It may be a bit hard to make out in that photo, but those brown things were "ahi bombs," or breaded cuts of tuna that were fried like katsu but left pink in the center. And yeah, I kinda liked them, being hot from the fryer while sitting out on the street with sunshine and a nice breeze. This was from a random food truck that I saw on the street (77 Alanui Ke'ali'i, 808-280-9048) that served a range of
plate lunches including grilled mahi and
garlic shrimp.
