So
Sumida has moved out, but another izakaya has appeared in its place (10 Anson Road #01-02), this one being an extension of some other izakaya on Neil Road that I'd never heard of. They emphasized a rice straw barbecue technique called
warayaki here, although lunchtime consisted of an abbreviated menu focused on just ramen and curry. I had the chance to try both this week and they did the job, even if that
iekei bowl above was a bit acidic. The tofu in that mini
gyudon was a nice touch though, and was better than a lot of
the chains. I'm curious to see how their
warayaki fares at dinner time.
