Korea's Kelim Dakdoritang in Singapore
This chain from Korea opened in Singapore last year, but I could never get the stars to align on going. This was due to multiple factors, including not just the fact that its original location was always packed, but also in that they did communal size portions, and with a gigantic wad of raw garlic on top too.
Fortunately, they opened a new outlet (55 Tiong Bahru Road #01-37, 6322-3433) that addresses most of these issues with single serving lunch sets, and without garlic at that. In fact, I had to ask for some on the side just to see what it would taste like.
This dish admittedly didn't taste very different from how it looked though; I mean, it was spicy and savory, but the chicken parts were boring, especially the dry ones. Maybe I should go back with a group of people to do it the proper way. And maybe go after work so that I don't go back to the office smelling like food.
