Fried calamari sandwiches are a big thing in Madrid even though it is so far from the coast. We got these from this little shop, which was filled with locals despite being next to touristy Plaza Mayor (4 Calle de Botoneras, 913-65-7278). The sandwich itself tasted like it looked with its savory and greasy rings enclosed in a slightly dry bun. The more interesting thing was the narrow venue with its fast moving food and beer, not to mention some
patatas bravas that were spicier than they looked.
