More from Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market
We learned the hard way this afternoon that there was no easy pedestrian access from Yeouido to Noryangjin despite Google Maps' suggestion that one could just walk across the big Olympic Boulevard. But we eventually made it in and grabbed things like a king crab and shellfish. Our shop upstairs used the backfat to make fried rice, which was tasty, even if heavily fueled by seaweed.
Perhaps more interesting were those brown sea worms on the right that squirmed and squirted water. They were sliced up and served raw, but they were firm and tasteless despite the deep red liver-like color inside. In that sense, it was a bit like those little octopus on the left: similarly firm and tasting only of the sesame oil that one dipped it in, although the latter still clenched and squiggled.
