The Wagyu Motsunabe from Kurohanabi Singapore
I finally made it back to Kurohanabi tonight to get their gyumotsu, and it was awesome. That rich, savory, and slightly spicy broth was exactly what I needed to line my belly with tonight.
Those intestines weren't offensively offal-like, but instead deliciously fatty and full of the beefy taste that one gets from otherwise prime cuts of meat. Spiking it all with their black shichimi (i.e., smoky with sansho) and washing it down with lemon sours just sealed the deal.
It's unfortunate that they had to bury their star dish under a bunch of other distractions on the menu, including ramen. And their ventilation is still just as bad as it was before. But I left this place with a big grin.
