There was no line at
Nakiryu when I arrived tonight, so I figured that I might as well take advantage of it to try one of their other bowls, like their
shoyu above. The good thing is that the noodles and shrimp wantons weren't overcooked like I had feared. But the broth was disappointingly watered down. Granted, I've never been to the real Nakiryu in Japan to make a proper comparison, but this broth had no depth to it, and had
room to be a lot saltier. Somehow these
Ajisen guys do a much better job at
Hototogisu.
