Bếp Huế is closing for good today, so I quickly scrambled down to grab the last batch of
bánh nậm that I could, gobbling it up within seconds. Half of their menu is already crossed out now, presumably as they liquidate their remaining stock. That meant that my usual
bún hến was gone already, so I tried the
bún mắm nêm, which featured a dark fermented anchovy sauce that the proprietor tried to warn me about. But the extra stank was precisely what appealed to me. I'm going to miss this place; she told me that they aren't opening up another location.
