Finally Trying Out Yakiniku-GO in Singapore

From right: Double Karubi Set and DIY Niku Sushi Set

The folks behind Ichiban Boshi have opened up their own version of Yakiniku Raiku around the island. I was curious, but dine-in service has been out of the picture for more than a month. So we finally made it to an outlet now that we can finally eat out again.

It was what I had expected: convenience over cuisine. Some cuts of meat were passable after a good grilling, but it's nothing to go out of one's way for, especially when things like the kimuchi were sugary sweet (ugh!). Don't bother getting their wagyu tokujou karubi either, as it's too lean and thick. The fatty jo karubi was the best cut in my opinion.

Actually, that DIY niku sushi on the left was interesting: grill your meat and roll it up into a little piece of sushi. On second thought, I wonder if one option was to consume the meat raw, but I suspect that it won't be anywhere as good as having it hit the grill first.
