A Harajuku Cheesy Corndog from Kyoto’s Maccha House
Somehow I never realized this until now, but this small chain of matcha cafes is from Kyoto. They were doing these corndogs, saying that they were popular in Japan. And yet, they looked like those Korean corn dogs that I had read about too, especially since they were dusted in sugar. Either way, I finally tried one tonight.
To my surprise, they were not breaded in cornmeal, but what seemed like flour and panko. And they were much more dense than I was expecting, and that was not in a good way. Granted, it might've been better had it been eaten straight out of the fryer, but I don't think I'll be eating that again.
