Huluruk Myeon House in Singapore

Shrimp Paste Kalguksu

This small local chain of Korean noodle shops never looked very appealing to me whenever I passed by. But then I saw a show on Korean food this past week that featured kalguksu, or knife-cut noodles, and it motivated me to stop by for dinner tonight. The star of the bowl was the broth, which was savory with the taste of prawns. The noodles were not unlike Chinese ones, being thick and chewy. The kimchi was lousy though, and you had to pay for individual plates of banchan too!
