Sulawesi Rajanya Ikan Bakar & Seafood in Jakarta
This small chain of restaurants across Jakarta serves food from the island of Sulawesi, which includes not just grilled ikan bakar fish and seafood, but also food from its capital city of Manado, whose cuisine is delightfully spicy.
We came here tonight for a team dinner, grabbing a couple of fish, including one covered in a potent red sambal, as well as that seemingly naked one above, which actually had a hint of black shrimp paste on it for some added stank. I was happy with it all, especially since they have a huge selection of nearly twenty varieties of sambal.
They charged for each one though, so we didn't get to try them all, but a lot of it was adorning the food already anyway. I was also happy with some small cuttlefish that they put on skewers and grilled on a fire, making for a wonderfully smoky and crunchy treat.
