LOL, I guess I wasn't the only one who thought that malatang was an odd fit for Matsuri. Just a few months later, they have repositioned themselves as Mala Ramen Matsuri instead, serving both a mazesoba above as well as a soup version. The seasoning is the same as before: choose your spicy level on a scale of zero to five (or go past it for an extra dollar), both for the chili pepper as well as for the sansho. I went for three on the former and four on the latter, and it was potent enough that I should've taken it down one notch. I'm glad that they were so bold about it, this was so excessively in-your-face that I probably won't be going back in a while.
