I passed by an outlet of Mengxia Jipai today and figured that I'd give it a try, as it's a chain of fried chicken cutlet stalls from
Taiwan. I went for the spicy version above, and the texture was awesome: moist and juicy on the inside, but crisp and light on the outside. The spice level was just about right too, but with one huge flaw: it's sweet. To be clear, it's nowhere as sweet as
Korean fried chicken, but sweet enough that I won't go back to get it again. Nonetheless, this is probably one of the more memorable
dajipai renditions that I've had.
