This place is screaming "tourist trap" with its Polynesian decor and gorgeous North Shore views of the beach...not to mention sky-high prices (799 Poho Place, 808-579-8488). But I came because it was on an Eater list, which pointed out that the kitchen was helmed by a local chef who knew what he was doing.
Eater was right: the food (and drinks!) were good. That ceviche-like thing above was not just delicious but also done with care, despite that coconut serving vessel that it came in. I also had a grilled uku snapper caught just on the other side of the island. But it's expensive enough that I don't need to go back.
