Shanghai's Hongchun (Red Lips) at Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore

Malatang

This malatang chain from Shanghai has opened a stall in the basement of Jewel Changi Airport (78 Airport Boulevard Jewel Changi Airport #B2-263), and its English name directly translates into an odd-sounding Red Lips. Anyway, this is what I got after checking off my protein, carb, and veggie selections on a paper form. It was definitely much better than Gong Yuan, as the broth was punchy and even slightly nutty, while the garnishes on top helped keep it exciting. But it wasn't cheap either, as that little bowl cost me about S$15 (US$11). At those prices, I won't make any huge effort to come back, although I'd eat it again if it happened to be in front of me.
