My hotel had beef noodles available at the breakfast spread this morning. I asked the guy to make it the way locals eat it here in
Chengdu, so he spiked it with some chili oil. It wasn't overly spicy but nonetheless was fun to eat (along with some sliced pork lungs in chili sauce that caught my eye). In case you're wondering, those white blocks in the center were mild-tasting bamboo-like things.
