I'm not an expert on this, but country fried steak is supposed to have a brown gravy, whereas
chicken fried steak has a white one, right? It's weird then that the menu here said that this was a country fried steak. Anyway, this was from a nearby shop that I stopped at out of convenience (154 Beale Street, 901-527-9060). I was a bit worried that it was smack in the middle of such a touristy area, but I liked the peppery gravy, and it did the job of getting me fueled up for the day.
