We had another hosted banquet in
rural Chao'an today, and it was delicious. I was happy with nearly everything including those steamed goods above, as well as a fishball soup, abalone, and braised pork belly. And my jaw totally dropped when they brought out some local baseball-sized crabs with reasonably sweet meat and gigantic (for their size) claws. They sat on a bed of curly instant noodles with a bit of
tomalley oozing into it. Yum, that was a slam-your-fist-on-the-table kind of delicious.
