I've seen these for a while now, and think I might've even tried a small sample at one point, although I can't confidently remember. Anyway, tonight we had access to a new bottle. Yes, it was hot enough to make my tummy feel warm, but it was also rather sweet. Perhaps that's a function of it being a Peranakan recipe, but I don't recall
Violet Oon's sambal being this sweet; and hers was more fragrant too. Well, I really like the idea behind this jar, but I don't think I'll be reaching for it again.
