China's XiangCao Yunnan Original Ecology Hotpot in Singapore


I'm not sure when this chain from Beijing opened down here, but I liked it (26 Liang Seah Street, 6635-8243). The broth was a huge part of it; they had not one spicy broth, but two, the second of which was a pickled green pepper one that got spicier as you continue to stew it. The pots had three divisions plus a bonus central compartment where they gave you their signature mushroom broth, which was light and savory and reminded me a lot of Mushroom Park when it was still here. Beyond that, the ingredients were of good quality, including the condiment selection. I just need to remember not to get the tomato broth next time; it's sweet.
