Kam's Roast from Hong Kong in Singapore
Surprisingly, there was no line when we arrived at Kam's Roast just before noon today (9 Scotts Road #01-04, 6836-7788). So we sat down and ordered their duck along with some char siew and roast meat in the hopes that the duck might be as good as the goose in Hong Kong.
It wasn't. Some parts of the duck weren't laced with enough fat, and even the parts that were fatty didn't taste as good as the goose. The char siew was surprisingly tough, making the roast meat the only thing that I really cared for. Even the egg noodles, while cooked firmly, weren't anything that got me excited.
Well, they certainly went out of their way to make sure you knew that it was Michelin-starred given all the signage on the walls and placemats here. But we're not coming back, especially at these prices. I'd much rather go to Four Seasons instead.
