I had a ton of work to finish here in
Sydney tonight, so I popped out quickly to this place on Wulugul Walk (33 Barangaroo Avenue) to try to grab some food before heading back upstairs. I'm not sure if this was inspired by fried chicken in the US, but this sandwich did the job. The chicken was super juicy and tender, and the hot sauce was kinda smoky rather than being overloaded with vinegar like
buffalo wings are.

Yep, definitely inspired by American fried chicken. The original started in Melbourne as an American-style diner, but they then switched their focus to fried chicken.
If this sandwich was inspired by Nashville Hot Chicken, it's like a crime to put cheese and lettuce on it. The only acceptable condiment would be pickle slices.
My staff here at the self storage love this too. During their limited break time sandwiches are great for to-go. Buying the same takeouts daily could be boring so new menus are often looked forward to for a change and to motivate them to finish the rest of the day. It is a positive thing for both their work and their well being.
